Yoga through Beholding the Cosmic Form of God

Viśhwarūp Darśhan Yog

In Chapter 11, Arjuna requests to see Krishna's cosmic form. Granting Arjuna divine vision, Krishna reveals his awe-inspiring, infinite Vishwaroopa. Arjuna witnesses the entire universe, countless gods, and the terrifying destruction of warriors within Krishna's blazing mouths. Realizing Krishna is Supreme Time, Arjuna understands the battle's outcome is already determined and he is merely an instrument. Overwhelmed by fear, Arjuna bows down, apologizing for treating Krishna as a mere human friend, and begs him to return to his gentle appearance. Krishna resumes his human form, comforting Arjuna. He explains that this supreme cosmic vision cannot be achieved through rituals, charity, or studying scriptures, but is only revealed to those who possess pure, undivided devotion.

Krishna said: I am mighty Time, the destroyer of worlds, and I am here to wipe out these people. Therefore, stand up and win your glory! Defeat your enemies and enjoy a thriving kingdom. Arjuna said: Krishna, it makes perfect sense that the world rejoices and finds deep joy in praising you. While terrified demons scatter in every direction, all the perfected beings are bowing down to you.
And why shouldn't they bow to you, since you are greater than even Brahma, the first creator? You are the infinite Lord and the refuge of the universe, encompassing everything that exists, everything that doesn't, and whatever lies beyond them both.
You are the original God, the most ancient person, and the final resting place of this entire universe. You are both the knower and what is to be known, filling all of creation with your infinite forms.

Not realizing your true greatness, I have casually called you 'Krishna,' 'Yadava,' or 'my friend.' Whether out of affection or just being careless, I treated you like an ordinary buddy.
I also ask you to forgive any disrespect I showed you in a joking way while we were relaxing, resting, sitting, or eating together. Whether we were alone or with others, I apologize for taking you lightly, you who are beyond all measure.
You are the father of the entire universe and all its living and non-living beings. You are the ultimate teacher and worthy of the deepest respect. Since no one in all the worlds is even equal to you, how could anyone possibly be greater?
So I bow down completely before you, asking for your grace. Please forgive my faults just as a father excuses his son, a friend forgives a friend, or a lover pardons their beloved.
I am thrilled to see this cosmic form that no one has ever seen before, but my mind is also shaking with fear. You are the very first person to ever see this original shape of the universe.
No one else in the human world has been able to see what you just saw. This cosmic form cannot be revealed simply by studying sacred texts, performing rituals, giving to charity, or doing severe physical penance.

Let go of your fear, cheer up your heart, and look at my familiar form once again.
After saying this, Krishna revealed his four-armed shape and then returned to his gentle human appearance. By doing this, the great-souled Krishna comforted the terrified Arjuna.

I finally feel like myself again.

Anyone who does their work for me, makes me their ultimate goal, and loves me with a pure heart will reach me. Such a person lives free from unhealthy attachments and holds no hatred toward any living being.
