Yoga through Appreciating the Infinite Opulences of God

In Chapter 10, Krishna reveals His infinite divine opulences to Arjuna, explaining that He is the absolute source of all creations, gods, sages, and human qualities. Filled with devotion, Arjuna accepts Krishna as the Supreme Lord and eagerly asks how to meditate on His various manifestations in the world. Krishna answers by listing His most prominent forms, declaring that He is the soul seated within all living beings, the radiant sun among luminaries, the Himalayas among mountains, and the sacred Ganges among rivers. Ultimately, Krishna concludes that every glorious, beautiful, and powerful thing in existence springs from just a tiny spark of His boundless splendor, and He supports the entire universe with merely a single fragment of Himself.

  1. 10.1 भूय एव महाबाहो श्रृणु मे परमं वचःArjuna, listen once more to my highest teaching. Because you are so dear to me, I want to share this for your ultimate well-being.अर्जुन, मेरी इस सबसे ऊँची शिक्षा को एक बार फिर सुनो। तुम मुझे बहुत प्यारे हो, इसलिए तुम्हारी भलाई के लिए मैं यह बता रहा हूँ।
  2. 10.2 न मे विदुः सुरगणाः प्रभवं न महर्षयःNeither the gods nor the great sages know my origin. In every way, I am the absolute source from which all gods and sages come.मेरी उत्पत्ति को न तो देवता जानते हैं और न ही महान ऋषि। असल में, मैं ही सभी देवताओं और ऋषियों का मूल कारण हूँ।
  3. 10.3 यो मामजमनादिं च वेत्ति लोकमहेश्वरम्Anyone who truly knows me as unborn, without beginning, and the supreme master of all worlds is freed from human delusion. Such a person is cleared of all past wrongs.जो इंसान मुझे अजन्मा, शुरुआत-रहित और सभी लोकों का सबसे बड़ा स्वामी मान लेता है, उसका मोह दूर हो जाता है। ऐसा व्यक्ति अपने सभी पापों से छूट जाता है।

  5. 10.5 अहिंसा समता तुष्टिस्तपो दानं यशोऽयशःThe same is true for non-violence, balance, contentment, self-discipline, charity, honor, and disgrace. Every diverse quality found in living beings originates from me alone....अहिंसा, समानता, संतोष, तप, दान, और यश-अपयश—प्राणियों के ये सभी अलग-अलग भाव मुझसे ही पैदा होते हैं।
  6. 10.6 महर्षयः सप्त पूर्वे चत्वारो मनवस्तथाThe seven great sages, the four ancient ancestors, and the first leaders of humanity were all born directly from my mind. Every living creature in this world descends from them.सात महान ऋषि, उनसे भी पहले के चार पूर्वज और सभी मनु मेरे मन से ही पैदा हुए हैं। दुनिया के सभी प्राणी उन्हीं की संतान हैं।
  7. 10.7 एतां विभूतिं योगं च मम यो वेत्ति तत्त्वतःWhen you truly grasp the extent of my divine presence and power, you naturally connect with me through unwavering yoga. There is absolutely no doubt about this.जो मेरी इस महानता और योग-शक्ति को सही मायनों में समझ लेता है, वह पक्की भक्ति से मुझसे जुड़ जाता है। इसमें कोई शक नहीं है।
  8. 10.8 अहं सर्वस्य प्रभवो मत्तः सर्वं प्रवर्ततेI am the source of all that exists, and everything flows into motion from me. Realizing this, the wise devote themselves to me with deep feeling and love.मैं ही हर चीज़ की शुरुआत हूँ और सब कुछ मुझसे ही चलता है। यह समझकर, समझदार लोग पूरे भाव और प्रेम से मेरी भक्ति करते हैं।
  9. 10.9 मच्चित्ता मद्गतप्राणा बोधयन्तः परस्परम्Those who fix their minds and dedicate their lives to me find immense joy in sharing this wisdom with each other. They are always satisfied and delighted when talking about me.जो लोग अपना मन और जीवन मुझे सौंप देते हैं, वे आपस में मेरी बातें करके और एक-दूसरे को ज्ञान देकर ही सच्ची खुशी और संतोष पाते हैं।
  10. 10.10 तेषां सततयुक्तानां भजतां प्रीतिपूर्वकम्When people are constantly devoted and approach me with love, I grant them the clear understanding they need to reach me.जो लोग हमेशा मुझसे जुड़े रहते हैं और प्यार से मेरी भक्ति करते हैं, उन्हें मैं वह समझ देता हूँ जिससे वे मुझ तक पहुँच सकें।
  11. 10.11 तेषामेवानुकम्पार्थमहमज्ञानजं तमःOut of pure compassion, I dwell within their hearts and shine the brilliant light of knowledge. This completely destroys the darkness born of ignorance.उन पर दया करने के लिए, उनके मन में बैठा मैं ज्ञान का ऐसा दीया जलाता हूँ जो अज्ञान के अंधेरे को पूरी तरह मिटा देता है।
  12. 10.12 परं ब्रह्म परं धाम पवित्रं परमं भवान्You are the supreme reality, the ultimate home, and the absolute purifier. You are the eternal divine person, the original God, unborn and present everywhere.आप ही परम ब्रह्म, सबसे बड़ा ठिकाना और सबसे पवित्र हैं। आप हमेशा रहने वाले दिव्य पुरुष, सबसे पहले देव, अजन्मा और हर जगह मौजूद हैं।
  13. 10.13 आहुस्त्वामृषयः सर्वे देवर्षिर्नारदस्तथाAll the great sages—including Narada, Asita, Devala, and Vyasa—have confirmed this truth about you. Now, you are declaring it to me yourself.नारद, असित, देवल और व्यास जैसे सभी महान ऋषियों ने आपके बारे में यही कहा है। और अब आप खुद भी मुझे यही बता रहे हैं।
  14. 10.14 सर्वमेतदृतं मन्ये यन्मां वदसि केशवKrishna, I completely accept everything you have told me as the truth. Neither the gods nor the demons can fully grasp your vast manifestations.कृष्ण, आप जो कुछ भी कह रहे हैं, उसे मैं पूरी तरह सच मानता हूँ। भगवान, आपके असली रूप को न तो देवता समझ सकते हैं और न ही दानव।
  15. 10.15 स्वयमेवात्मनाऽत्मानं वेत्थ त्वं पुरुषोत्तमYou are the creator and master of all beings, the God of gods, and the Lord of the universe. Only you can truly know yourself, through your own divine nature.हे सबसे उत्तम पुरुष, सबको बनाने वाले, सबके स्वामी, देवों के देव और दुनिया के मालिक! केवल आप ही खुद को अपनी शक्ति से सचमुच जानते हैं।
  16. 10.16 वक्तुमर्हस्यशेषेण दिव्या ह्यात्मविभूतयःPlease tell me in detail about your divine powers and expressions. I want to know how you pervade and reside within all these worlds.कृपया मुझे अपनी उन दिव्य शक्तियों के बारे में विस्तार से बताएँ, जिनसे आप इन सभी लोकों में समाए हुए हैं।
  17. 10.17 कथं विद्यामहं योगिंस्त्वां सदा परिचिन्तयन्How should I meditate on you to truly know you? In what specific forms and aspects should I think of you, my Lord?हे महान योगी, मैं आपको जानने के लिए हमेशा आपका ध्यान कैसे करूँ? भगवान, मुझे आपके किन-किन रूपों और भावों में आपको याद करना चाहिए?
  18. 10.18 विस्तरेणात्मनो योगं विभूतिं च जनार्दनKrishna, please explain your mystic power and divine expressions to me again in detail. I can never get enough of hearing your life-giving words.कृष्ण, कृपया अपनी योग-शक्ति और विभूतियों के बारे में मुझे फिर से विस्तार से बताएँ। आपकी अमृत जैसी बातों को सुनकर मेरा मन कभी नहीं भरता।
  19. 10.19 हन्त ते कथयिष्यामि दिव्या ह्यात्मविभूतयःArjuna, I will gladly tell you about my most prominent divine manifestations. There is truly no end to my vastness, so I will only share the most significant ones.अर्जुन, मैं तुम्हें अपनी कुछ खास दिव्य शक्तियों के बारे में बताऊँगा। मेरी महानता का कोई अंत नहीं है, इसलिए मैं सिर्फ मुख्य बातें ही कहूँगा।
  20. 10.20 अहमात्मा गुडाकेश सर्वभूताशयस्थितःArjuna, I am the true self seated within the hearts of all living beings. I am the absolute beginning, the middle, and the end of all creation.अर्जुन, मैं सभी जीवों के दिलों में बैठा हुआ उनका असली रूप हूँ। मैं ही सभी प्राणियों की शुरुआत, मध्य और अंत हूँ।
  21. 10.21 आदित्यानामहं विष्णुर्ज्योतिषां रविरंशुमान्Among the solar deities I am Vishnu, and among sources of light I am the radiant sun. I am Marichi among the wind gods, and among the stars I am the moon.आदित्यों में मैं विष्णु हूँ और चमकने वालों में मैं सूरज हूँ। हवा के देवताओं में मैं मरीचि हूँ और तारों में मैं चाँद हूँ।
  22. 10.22 वेदानां सामवेदोऽस्मि देवानामस्मि वासवःOf the sacred Vedas I am the musical Sama Veda, and among the celestial gods I am Indra. I am the mind among the senses, and I am the very consciousness within all living beings.वेदों में मैं सामवेद हूँ और देवताओं में मैं इंद्र हूँ। इंद्रियों में मैं मन हूँ और सभी जीवों के भीतर की चेतना भी मैं ही हूँ।
  23. 10.23 रुद्राणां शङ्करश्चास्मि वित्तेशो यक्षरक्षसाम्Among the fierce Rudras I am Shiva, and among nature spirits and guardians I am Kubera, the lord of wealth. I am fire among the elements, and Mount Meru among the highest peaks.रुद्रों में मैं शिव हूँ और यक्ष-राक्षसों में मैं धन का देवता कुबेर हूँ। वसुओं में मैं आग हूँ और ऊँचे पहाड़ों में मैं मेरु पर्वत हूँ।
  24. 10.24 पुरोधसां च मुख्यं मां विद्धि पार्थ बृहस्पतिम्Arjuna, know that among priests I am the chief, Brihaspati. Among military commanders I am Skanda, the god of war, and among all bodies of water I am the vast ocean.अर्जुन, पुजारियों में मुझे सबसे मुख्य बृहस्पति मानो। सेनापतियों में मैं कार्तिकेय हूँ और पानी के भंडारों में मैं समुद्र हूँ।
  25. 10.25 महर्षीणां भृगुरहं गिरामस्म्येकमक्षरम्Among the great sages I am Bhrigu, and among all sounds I am the sacred syllable Om. Of spiritual practices I am the quiet chanting of mantras, and among immovable things I am the Himalayas.महान ऋषियों में मैं भृगु हूँ और शब्दों में मैं पवित्र 'ॐ' हूँ। पूजा-पाठ में मैं मंत्रों का जाप हूँ और अपनी जगह टिके रहने वालों में मैं हिमालय हूँ।
  26. 10.26 अश्वत्थः सर्ववृक्षाणां देवर्षीणां च नारदःAmong trees I am the sacred fig tree, and among celestial sages I am Narada. I am Chitraratha among the heavenly musicians, and the sage Kapila among perfected beings.पेड़ों में मैं पवित्र पीपल हूँ और देवर्षियों में मैं नारद हूँ। गंधर्वों में मैं चित्ररथ हूँ और सिद्ध लोगों में मैं कपिल मुनि हूँ।
  27. 10.27 उच्चैःश्रवसमश्वानां विद्धि माममृतोद्भवम्Among horses, know me as the mythical Uchchaihshrava, born from the churning of the cosmic ocean. Among majestic elephants I am Airavata, and among human beings I am the king.घोड़ों में मुझे समुद्र-मंथन से निकला उच्चैःश्रवा जानो। हाथियों में मैं ऐरावत हूँ और इंसानों में मैं राजा हूँ।
  28. 10.28 आयुधानामहं वज्रं धेनूनामस्मि कामधुक्Among weapons I am the thunderbolt, and among cows I am the mythical wish-fulfilling cow. I am the god of love who inspires procreation, and among serpents I am the king, Vasuki.हथियारों में मैं वज्र हूँ और गायों में मैं कामधेनु हूँ। संतान पैदा करने वाले कारणों में मैं कामदेव हूँ और साँपों में मैं वासुकि हूँ।
  29. 10.29 अनन्तश्चास्मि नागानां वरुणो यादसामहम्Among the cosmic serpents I am Ananta, and among water deities I am Varuna. I am Aryama among the ancestors, and among those who uphold the law I am Yama, the lord of death.नागों में मैं अनंत (शेषनाग) हूँ और पानी के देवताओं में मैं वरुण हूँ। पूर्वजों में मैं अर्यमा हूँ और नियम लागू करने वालों में मैं यमराज हूँ।
  30. 10.30 प्रह्लादश्चास्मि दैत्यानां कालः कलयतामहम्Even among the demons I am the devoted Prahlada, and among forces of control I am time itself. I am the lion among beasts, and the great eagle Garuda among birds.दैत्यों में मैं प्रह्लाद हूँ और काबू में रखने वालों में मैं समय हूँ। जानवरों में मैं शेर हूँ और पक्षियों में मैं गरुड़ हूँ।
  31. 10.31 पवनः पवतामस्मि रामः शस्त्रभृतामहम्Among purifiers I am the wind, and among warriors I am Rama. I am the crocodile among water creatures, and the holy Ganges among rivers.पवित्र करने वालों में मैं हवा हूँ और हथियार उठाने वालों में मैं राम हूँ। पानी के जीवों में मैं मगरमच्छ हूँ और नदियों में मैं गंगा हूँ।
  32. 10.32 सर्गाणामादिरन्तश्च मध्यं चैवाहमर्जुनArjuna, I am the beginning, middle, and end of all that is created. Of all fields of knowledge I am the science of the soul, and in any debate I am the final, logical truth.अर्जुन, इस पूरी सृष्टि की शुरुआत, मध्य और अंत मैं ही हूँ। सभी तरह की विद्याओं में मैं अध्यात्म-विद्या हूँ और बहस करने वालों में मैं सही नतीजा हूँ।
  33. 10.33 अक्षराणामकारोऽस्मि द्वन्द्वः सामासिकस्य चAmong letters I am the first vowel, A, and in grammar I am the dual compound word. I am endless time itself, and I am the universal creator whose presence faces all directions.अक्षरों में मैं 'अ' हूँ और व्याकरण के समासों में मैं द्वन्द्व समास हूँ। मैं ही कभी खत्म न होने वाला समय हूँ और मैं ही हर तरफ चेहरा रखने वाला विधाता हूँ।
  34. 10.34 मृत्युः सर्वहरश्चाहमुद्भवश्च भविष्यताम्I am the death that eventually takes everything, and I am the origin of everything yet to come. Among feminine qualities I am fame, prosperity, eloquent speech, memory, intelligence, courage, and forgiveness.मैं सब कुछ छीन लेने वाली मौत हूँ और भविष्य में पैदा होने वाली हर चीज़ की जड़ भी मैं ही हूँ। स्त्रियों के गुणों में मैं यश, सुंदरता, अच्छी बोली, याददाश्त, समझदारी, हिम्मत और क्षमा हूँ।
  35. 10.35 बृहत्साम तथा साम्नां गायत्री छन्दसामहम्Among sacred hymns I am the Brihat-Sama, and among poetic meters I am the Gayatri. Of the months I am the harvest month of Margashirsha, and among seasons I am the flower-bearing spring.गाए जाने वाले मंत्रों में मैं बृहत्साम हूँ और कविताओं के छंदों में मैं गायत्री हूँ। महीनों में मैं अगहन (मार्गशीर्ष) हूँ और मौसमों में मैं फूलों वाला वसंत हूँ।
  36. 10.36 द्यूतं छलयतामस्मि तेजस्तेजस्विनामहम्I am the gamble of the cheat, and the brilliance of everything that shines. I am victory, I am determination, and I am the inner goodness of the virtuous.धोखा देने वालों में मैं जुआ हूँ और चमकने वालों की चमक हूँ। मैं ही जीत हूँ, मैं ही पक्का इरादा हूँ और अच्छे लोगों की अच्छाई भी मैं ही हूँ।
  37. 10.37 वृष्णीनां वासुदेवोऽस्मि पाण्डवानां धनंजयःAmong my own family line I am Krishna, and among the Pandava brothers I am you, Arjuna. Among the sages I am Vyasa, and among great thinkers I am Shukracharya.वृष्णि वंश में मैं कृष्ण हूँ और पांडवों में मैं तुम (अर्जुन) हूँ। मुनियों में मैं वेदव्यास हूँ और विचारकों में मैं शुक्राचार्य हूँ।
  38. 10.38 दण्डो दमयतामस्मि नीतिरस्मि जिगीषताम्I am the rod of discipline for those who enforce the law, and the wise strategy of those seeking victory. I am the silence of profound secrets, and the deep wisdom of the wise.सजा देने वालों में मैं डंडा हूँ और जीत चाहने वालों की सही नीति हूँ। गहरे राज़ में मैं खामोशी हूँ और ज्ञानियों का ज्ञान भी मैं ही हूँ।
  39. 10.39 यच्चापि सर्वभूतानां बीजं तदहमर्जुनArjuna, I am the generating seed of all existence. Absolutely no creature, whether moving or still, can exist without me.अर्जुन, सभी जीवों को पैदा करने वाला बीज मैं ही हूँ। दुनिया में चलने-फिरने वाला या एक जगह रुका हुआ ऐसा कोई भी प्राणी नहीं है, जो मेरे बिना रह सके।
  40. 10.40 नान्तोऽस्ति मम दिव्यानां विभूतीनां परंतपThere is no end to my divine manifestations, Arjuna. What I have shared with you is just a tiny glimpse of my infinite power and glory.अर्जुन, मेरी दिव्य शक्तियों और रूपों का कोई अंत नहीं है। मैंने तुम्हें जो भी बताया है, वह मेरी अनंत महानता की बस एक छोटी सी झलक है।
  41. 10.41 यद्यद्विभूतिमत्सत्त्वं श्रीमदूर्जितमेव वाWhenever you see something in this world that is extraordinary, beautiful, or powerful, understand that it comes from just a tiny spark of my brilliance.अर्जुन, इस दुनिया में जो कुछ भी तुम्हें बहुत खास, सुंदर या ताकतवर दिखाई दे, समझ लेना कि वह मेरी ही शक्ति और चमक के एक छोटे से हिस्से से बना है।
  42. 10.42 अथवा बहुनैतेन किं ज्ञातेन तवार्जुनBut honestly, Arjuna, you do not need to know all these specific examples. Simply understand that I support this entire universe with just a single fragment of my being.पर अर्जुन, तुम्हें इन सब बातों को विस्तार से जानने की क्या जरूरत है? बस इतना समझ लो कि मैं अपने एक छोटे से अंश से ही इस पूरी दुनिया को संभाले हुए हूँ।
