Chapter 6, verse 46
Bhagavad Gita 6.46
Krishna says
tapasvibhyo'dhiko yogī jñānibhyo'pi mato'dhikaḥ
karmibhyaścādhiko yogī tasmādyogī bhavārjuna
Meaning
A true yogi is greater than someone who just practices harsh self-discipline, greater than an intellectual scholar, and greater than someone who only performs good deeds for a reward. Because of this, Arjuna, you should strive to be a yogi.
What it means for us today
True spiritual connection is greater than mere physical discipline, intellectual knowledge, or working for rewards. Krishna urges us to seek this direct, inner union with the divine.
