Meaning

Arjuna, it is incredibly difficult to truly renounce the world without first practicing selfless action. A thoughtful person who engages in the yoga of action quickly reaches the divine.

What it means for us today

Trying to give up all activities without first purifying the mind through selfless work often leads to frustration. Engaging in our duties with a spirit of service is a faster and more practical way to spiritual peace.
