Krishna says
yuktaḥ karmaphalaṃ tyaktvā śāntimāpnoti naiṣṭhikīm
ayuktaḥ kāmakāreṇa phale sakto nibadhyate
Meaning
By giving up the desire for personal reward, a spiritually centered person finds deep, lasting peace. In contrast, someone disconnected from their higher self is driven by desire, clings to the results of their work, and becomes trapped.
What it means for us today
Peace of mind comes when we focus on doing our best rather than obsessing over the outcome. When we are constantly anxious about what we will get in return, we trap ourselves in a cycle of stress.
