Krishna says
brahmaṇyādhāya karmāṇi saṅgaṃ tyaktvā karoti yaḥ
lipyate na sa pāpena padmapatramivāmbhasā
Meaning
Someone who lets go of attachment and dedicates all their actions to the divine remains completely untouched by negative karma. They are like a lotus leaf that rests in the water but never gets wet.
What it means for us today
The lotus leaf lives in muddy water but never gets wet or dirty. Similarly, if we do our work as an offering to a higher purpose without clinging to results, we can live in this complex world without being tainted by its negativity.
