Meaning
You have the right to do your work, but you never have a claim to the results of what you do. Do not act just to get a specific reward, but do not let yourself fall into laziness either.
What it means for us today
This is one of the most famous verses of the Gita, teaching the essence of Karma Yoga. We must focus entirely on doing our best work without obsessing over the outcome, while also avoiding the trap of laziness.
