Arjuna says
nihatya dhārtarāṣṭrānnaḥ kā prītiḥ syājjanārdana
pāpamevāśrayedasmānhatvaitānātatāyinaḥ
Meaning
What joy could we possibly find in killing the sons of Dhritarashtra, Krishna? Even though they are the aggressors, we would only be taking on guilt by destroying them.
What it means for us today
Despite knowing that the opposing side consists of aggressors who have committed crimes, Arjuna fears the moral consequences of killing them. He is caught in a moral dilemma between punishing wrongdoers and preserving family.
