Chapter 2, verse 69

Bhagavad Gita 2.69

Krishna says

yā niśā sarvabhūtānāṃ tasyāṃ jāgarti saṃyamī
yasyāṃ jāgrati bhūtāni sā niśā paśyato muneḥ

Meaning

What seems like dark night to ordinary people is clear daylight to a self-controlled sage. Conversely, the worldly pursuits that keep most people wide awake are like a dark night to the clear-seeing sage.

What it means for us today

The priorities of a spiritually awakened person are completely opposite to those of worldly people. While the masses chase material wealth, the wise focus on inner spiritual truth.
