Meaning

Driven by their own desires, they view heaven as the ultimate goal. They perform elaborate rituals hoping to secure wealth, power, and a good rebirth, completely missing the deeper truth.

What it means for us today

When actions are driven solely by worldly ambitions and a desire for luxury, they bind us to the cycle of birth and death. Such a materialistic approach to spirituality prevents true liberation and inner peace.
