Chapter 18, verse 11
Bhagavad Gita 18.11
Krishna says
na hi dehabhṛtā śakyaṃ tyaktuṃ karmāṇyaśeṣataḥ
yastu karmaphalatyāgī sa tyāgītyabhidhīyate
Meaning
It is impossible for anyone in a physical body to stop acting entirely. Therefore, the person who simply gives up the desire for the results of their work is the one who has truly renounced.
What it means for us today
As long as we have a physical body, we must perform basic actions like breathing, eating, and working to survive. True freedom comes not from stopping action, but from stopping the selfish craving for results.
