Meaning
Arjuna, material nature consists of three fundamental qualities: goodness, passion, and ignorance. These three threads tie the eternal soul to the temporary physical body.
What it means for us today
Our pure spiritual nature gets covered by our psychological tendencies and habits. Recognizing which of these three modes is influencing us is the first step toward self-mastery.
