Gita Chapter 14: Guṇa Traya Vibhāg Yog

Chapter 14, verse 16

Bhagavad Gita 14.16

Krishna says

karmaṇaḥ sukṛtasyāhuḥ sāttvikaṃ nirmalaṃ phalam
rajasastu phalaṃ duḥkhamajñānaṃ tamasaḥ phalam

Meaning

Good and mindful actions naturally produce pure results born of goodness. In contrast, actions driven by passion end in pain, and those rooted in ignorance lead only to foolishness and darkness.

What it means for us today

Every action bears a corresponding fruit. Selfless acts bring inner peace, selfish ambitions eventually bring frustration, and lazy or harmful acts only lead to deeper confusion.
