Chapter 13, verse 34
Bhagavad Gita 13.34
Krishna says
yathā prakāśayatyekaḥ kṛtsnaṃ lokamimaṃ raviḥ
kṣetraṃ kṣetrī tathā kṛtsnaṃ prakāśayati bhārata
Meaning
Arjuna, just as a single sun lights up the entire world, the single conscious spirit illuminates the entire field of the body and mind.
What it means for us today
Consciousness is the light of the soul that makes us aware of our thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations. Just as the sun is separate from what it lights up, the soul is separate from the body.
