vedeṣu yajñeṣu tapaḥsu caiva

Meaning

A yogi who grasps this deep truth goes far beyond the rewards gained from studying scriptures, performing rituals, practicing self-discipline, or giving to charity. They ultimately reach the supreme, original spiritual home.

What it means for us today

While religious rituals and good deeds bring positive results, true spiritual realization offers an infinitely greater reward. A seeker should aim for deep devotion and understanding, which naturally leads to the ultimate spiritual destination.
