Bhagavad Gita 4.37
Krishna says
yathaidhāṃsi samiddho'gnirbhasmasātkurute'rjuna
jñānāgniḥ sarvakarmāṇi bhasmasātkurute tathā
Meaning
Just as a blazing fire turns firewood into ashes, Arjuna, the fire of wisdom burns all the karmic baggage of your actions to ashes.
What it means for us today
Actions normally bind a person to their consequences, but self-realization changes this. When one acts with true wisdom and detachment, the binding effects of all past and present actions are completely destroyed.
