Krishna says

Meaning

Anyone who thinks the soul can kill, or that the soul can be killed, does not truly understand. The true self neither kills nor is ever killed.

What it means for us today

True spiritual knowledge reveals that the soul is beyond physical actions like killing or dying. This verse helps Arjuna understand that his fear of destroying the eternal essence of his relatives is unfounded.
